Al-Nasara, derived from the Arabic word Naserah, literary means support, while the actual meaning is follow (v) and follower (n). It is the same Ebionites heresy that was formed by a Jewish Christian and furnished in Arabia before Islam, especially in Mecca and Yathrib.
Al-Nasara refers to the followers of al -Nasraniyeh heresy, which is definitely not Christianity, simply because al-Nasraniyeh do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah, rejecting his divinity, his crucifixion, and resurrection. In fact, they believed that Judas Iscariot was the one who was crucified instead of Jesus, who was lifted to heaven by God, a heresy that Islam copied in the Quran. They (al-Nasara) also recommended male circumcision, which was also adopted by Muslims.
The Nasara believed in one of the Jewish Gospels, called the Gospel of Hebrews, which is unrecognized by the Christians. Furthermore, they did not recognize the Nicea Ecumenical Council held in 325 AD, which laid the foundations of the Christian faith of various denominations.
Al-Nasraniyeh heresy disappeared in the late 7th century with the advent of Islam, while Christianity’s destiny is to last to the end of days.
